Howz it?

"Howz it?" is a common phrase you hear in South Africa. We continue to learn a new culture and a "new" language with many different phrases and meanings. Just a few examples would be...rubbish (trash), nappies (diapers), fetch her (pick her up), tekkies (tennis shoes), and whoz on (who's it)? It doesn't take long for the kids to begin speaking with an accent! Recently, while I was going over the B.verses during neighborhood S.S., my friends were making fun of my accent when all the kids carefully repeated the verses in a Southern American accent!

So, what are the kids up to these days? Well, Canon is working diligently through his BJU homeschool 6th grade and doing well. He is also taking guitar lessons that he is enjoying. Isaac is busy with 2nd grade Abeka, but we are looking forward to changing his curriculum next year. He is doing well, but ready for a change. He is still enjoying Cub Scouts and has made a lot of neighborhood friends. Scotland is now reading and continues through some Pre-K workbooks. He will start Abeka 1st grade next year. Eli and Anna Katharine enjoy playing together most days and doing a "little school" when we can! Anna Katharine knows all her colors and is talking like a 3 year old! We see the day of no diapers very soon in our future! Eli is looking forward to turning 4 and will be celebrating with a big party!

I was reading back through your posts and read the one about Jos and thought you might find this interesting.....the governor of the state in which Jos is located is a former BSF discussion leader.....how about that? We have several classes there so we were getting regular updates. We were praying for brothers and sisters there and while we were praying the governor called for 3 days of fasting and praying at the end of which the violence had died down enough that the curfew was extended so classes could meet at regular times. I love how we can see sovereignty at work!! :)I know it is after the fact but thought you might enjoy that story! Missing you! Paige
